Mt Clarke & Northcote:
May 7, 2005.
Due west of Charlottes Pass.
After crossing the Snowy River just below Charlottes Pass, this route is off track for all but 50m.

I climbed just to the right of the rock face.

Here we go.

The route up.

The view from the summit of Mt Clarke (2105m) across the saddle to Northcote (2131m).
The rocks only get you half way - the rest is slog - 1,300ft.

And here we are.
From Northcote we see Mueller Pk (left), Abbot Pk (centre) and Townsend (right).

In the clouds (as usual).
I join the Lakes Walk track (briefly). The view down to Lake Albina with Towsend and Mt Alice Rawson (right) above.

Down from near Mt Lee towards Club Lake Creek.

The ruins of Kunama Lodge - flattened by an avalanche in 1956.

Looking back at the route I descended. Northcote (left) Mt Lee 2105m, (right).

I call this waterfall, Club Lake Creek Waterfall.
It is a delightful place to explore in Autumn. Most of the year it is inaccessible. Lots of Galaxia (fish) in the creek.
You will not find this in any of the hiking books.
